Firefighters were dispatched to the Lincoln Barbecue on East Lincoln Avenue at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning after receiving reports of a fire inside the kitchen of the restaurant.
It took firefighters several hours to knock down the flames, as they contended with wind, rain and tight confines inside the building. Crews eventually reported the fire was knocked down at approximately 1:30 p.m. Three firefighters suffered minor injuries during the battle.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
